Dear NAVFD Members and Friends,
Last week we received this information from Deacon Mike Walsh, Executive Director of the National Catholic Broadcasting Council:
We will be dedicating a Week of Daily TV Masses for Prayers for Vocations. This is the 2nd year for this and last year we partnered with the Serra Club and Knights of Columbus and they will also be involved again this year.
I believe we have a unique platform to engage our community across Canada and now around the world in this Week of Prayer which leads up to the World Day of Prayer for Vocations on Sunday April 22nd. We may also have an opportunity for religious communities to share their stories with our audience.
We would like to let as many people know about this and ask them join us in prayer as possible. Here is the current schedule of Masses and themes and Bishop Kasun will get things started with the Mass to tape on Thursday April 5th at 4:00 PM for the Mass of Sat. April 14. The masses are held at Loretto Abbey in Toronto.
The dates and themes (SUBJECT TO CHANGE) :
Mass to tape on Thursday April 5th at 4:00 PM for the Mass of Sat. April 14 : Bishop
Mass to tape on Tuesday April 10th at 4:00 PM for the Mass of Mon. April 16 Priest

The Euthanasia Deception is a documentary and educational outreach initiative that exposes what euthanasia laws can do to a country’s culture in a mere 15 years. The case study is Belgium: euthanasia’s ‘ground zero’. Based on a series of heart-wrenching personal testimonies along with medical, legal and expert analysis, producers reveal how all of us become vulnerable when life and death matters are handed over to lawmakers and doctors. The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition is selling DVD copies of the documentary for $30, 4 for $100, or 10 for $200. Order by calling 1-877-439-3348 or emailing info@epcc.ca. If you would like to organize a screening for your parish or community, the coalition may be able to provide a speaker or lead a question and answer session after the screening. For more information, click on the promotional video above or go to VulnerableFilm.com.

Opposing Euthanasia & Assisted Suicide:
Add your name
Last October, in a unique show of solidarity, faith leaders from Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical, Jewish and Muslim traditions across Canada signed a joint Declaration on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide (http://www.euthanasiadeclaration.ca/declaration/). The sponsoring signatories, including Canada's Catholic Bishops, are now inviting all Canadians who agree with the principles outlined in the Declaration to add their own signatures. The hope is that a significant number of Canadians will sign so that when faith leaders engage federal, provincial, territorial or municipal governments on this issue, the Declaration can be used as evidence of the numerous and diverse groups of Canadians who do not support physician-assisted suicide.
We encourage you to sign the Declaration online at the following links:
