On October 7th, St. Vital Parish Council (Beaumont) gathered for an awards ceremony. Rose Goudreau was presented with the Bellelle Guerin award for exemplary service in the League, having served for 45 years.

Dear Brother and Sisters in Christ, I am sharing this information with you on behalf of The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton, and in prayerful support for the Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada has partnered with the Canadian branch of the Papal charity, The Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), to provide immediate humanitarian support for the people of Ukraine. Donations to CNEWA will help equip local Caritas centres to assist struggling families, including those who are displaced and in desperate need for food, shelter, medical attention, and more. There are a number of ways in which the Knights of Columbus and The Catholic Women’s League may help:

In the midst of the news about the coronavirus COVID-19, we can be grateful to our sisters in the league for their friendship, faith and support through these difficult days. As individuals social interaction is important to each of us and to our mental health. What better time to express our CWL sisterhood by safely reaching out to our members - by connecting via social media, by email, writing a letter, or just picking up the phone. Not only will we help a sister, but we help ourselves by our social connection.
I am attaching the National Catholic Women's League of Canada Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Diocesan and provincial council's have been ordered to cancel their 2020 conventions. As such, the annual national convention for 2020 is cancelled until further notice. Detailed steps are included in the attached response. All officers will remain in their elected positions until such time annual meetings can be held. In the Edmonton Diocese, all registrations fees sent in will be returned to the registration individual or council. We will not process any registrations.
In the coming week, Parish Buddy calls by Diocesan officers will be made to parish council presidents to update on developments moving forward. Nevertheless, do not hesitate to reach out to your parish buddy or to any of the Diocesan officers if you have any additional questions and concerns.

Our goal this year is to engage 50 faith communities to help us between March 3 and May 14!
For the past eight years, Edmonton’s faith community has mobilized to assist Habitat for Humanity to build homes by providing volunteers, meals and gifts of money or materials during the Interfaith Works Project event. Hundreds of people have stepped forward every year to assist and we appreciate the help immensely.
Your faith group can assist by:
